Frequently Asked Questions
- Are utilities included?+
- Tenants are charged for utilities (electricity, heat, and water) based on their personal usage. Right now, our estimates of all utilities is approximately $150 per month depending on the side of your units and personal habits. Thanks to 545 Rideau’s modern construction, high efficiency appliances, heating/cooling, and electrical systems, you can expect lower energy usage compared with similar units in older buildings.
- What appliances are included in the rent?+
- A stainless-steel dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, stove, and a stacked washer and dryer.
- Are the units air conditioned?+
- The units have a central heat pump to provide heating and cooling with a thermostat that tenants can control themselves. Heating and cooling is almost always available regardless of the season.
- Are there balconies?+
- Some units on the 4th floor only have private balconies. The rooftop terrace is a public space available to all tenants.
- Do you offer furnished apartments?+
- No, we currently are not offering furnished apartments.
- What amenities are included in the rent?+
- Access to the rooftop terrace, lounge, and fitness centre are included. Tenants also have the option to pay additional fees for telecom, parking, storage units, and bicycle storage.
- Are there storage units available?+
- Yes, storage units are available on a first come first serve basis for $45 per month.
- Is bicycle storage available?+
- Yes, indoor heated bicycle parking is available at $10 per month.
- Is the building pet friendly?+
- Yes, pets are welcome at 545 Rideau, but there are rules! Tenants must declare any pets on their application form and there is a pet policy that all tenants will have to follow. For more details, please discuss this with your leasing agent during your appointment.
- Will there be parking available?+
- Yes, limited indoor heated parking is available for $225 per month. Please talk to the leasing agent to see if there are parking stall available.
- Is the building smoke-free?+
- There is a strict no-smoking policy in the units, on balconies, and indoor and outdoor common areas. This includes cigarette, cannabis (including water pipes), and incense.
- How can I get access to available units and pricing?+
- For available units, are posted on 545Rideau.com when they become available. You can also join our waiting list if units are not available. Please click here to see our current selection.
- What is the application process?+
- Schedule a one-on-one appointment with one of our leasing agents to tour your preferred unit. We offer both in-person and virtual appointments. After your appointment, you can request a digital application to fill out online. At this point we will conduct a tenant screening and credit check before approving your application!
- How can we view available units?+
- You can view units by booking an appointment (if units are available). All appointments must be booked on 545Rideau.com by clicking the "Book a Showing" button.
- Is tenant insurance required?+
- Yes, proof of tenant insurance is required before move in and yearly upon expiry.
